l If you've already learned how to join a new flower motif into a chain in the previous tutorial, then in this tutorial, I’ll show you how to form a circle using a chain of five flowers, then add a sixth flower to complete the flower motif. Just like the flower chain, this method requires no extra sewing — all the flowers are joined as you crochet. The finished piece can be used as a coaster. You can also use different types of yarn to make smaller motifs for decorating bags, clothing, and more.
Steps:
Finish a chain of four flowers
Crochet the fifth flower, join it to the forth flower after finishing the first stitch of the second petal
Complete the first stitch of the fifth petal, then loosen the loop
Join the fifth flower to the first flower
Pull the yarn through the center of the flower ring, then continue crocheting the fifth flower
Fasten off the yarn and weave in the ends to complete the flower ring
Crochet a Magic Ring(MR) with 10 single crochets(sc)
Insert the hook into the first stitch, crochet 1 slip stitch(sl), and 2 chain stitches(ch)
9. Then, work 2 half double crochets (hdc) in the first stitch.
(1) Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over again, pull up a loop (now 3 loops on the hook).
(2) Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops(one half double crochet completed).
loosen the loop
Pick up the flower ring
Insert the hook into the second double crochet (dc) of the unconnected petal in the middle of any of the flowers
Insert the hook back into the loop of the small flower, pull it through the stitch of the first large flower, and tighten the loop
Work 1 half double crochet (hdc) into the next stitch, 2 chain stitches (ch), then work 1 slip stitch (sl) into the same stitch, completing the connection and crochet of the first petal
Repeat steps 8-13 for the remaining 4 petals, connecting and crocheting them in order
Fasten off the yarn and weave in the ends to complete the flower piece
